As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a key member of the Operations/DevOps Engineering Team, which supports various Optum/UHG analytic organizations. Your primary responsibilities will include building and maintaining automated pipelines to deploy node and analytics applications in the public cloud. Additionally, you will play a vital role in advancing the team's focus on increasing operational maturity, managing compliance and vulnerabilities, and implementing automation and emerging technologies to improve users' experience and enable them to focus on their core responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications and application components

  • Conduct peer design and code reviews to ensure high-quality software and develop automated test cases

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions or similar tools

  • Automate the deployment process and manage infrastructure as code

  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline issues and implement solutions to improve pipeline performance

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration of pipeline processes with their workflows

  • Implement unit tests and automated test cases to ensure code quality and reliability

  • Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes and tools to ensure high-quality solutions.

  • Stay up to date with new and emerging technologies and trends in the field of DevOps and bring relevant knowledge to the team.


Required Qualifications:


  • Significant experience with Linux system administration and support experience in an enterprise IT, service provider organization.

  • Hands-on experience with IT operational automation and configuration management tools and DevOps practices, processes, and tools (Git, CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, Actions, Helm, etc.).

  • Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and knowledge on container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

  • Proficient with a scripting language (Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform)

  • Excellent communication skills (both strong written and verbal English is a must)

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, creative, innovative, results driven, and adaptable with solid problem solving and analytical skills

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.

  • Experience in Agile development methodologies and working with cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience building containers with dockerfiles and Manifest(docker, k8s)

  • Vulnerability integration into deployment pipelines

  • Working Knowledge of deployments in a Kubernetes cluster using Helm

  • Experience administering applications in public cloud (Azure preferred).

  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ES, Kibana, etc

  • Proven experiences with development and delivery using DevOps or MlOps Practices

  • Exposure to cloud based Big Data tools (Databricks, Snowflake, Data Lake Storage)
